The Podium Institute works very closely and collaboratively with its primary funder, Podium Analytics, an NGO and registered charity committed to reducing injury in sport. Podium Analytics is leading the deployment of the SportSmart platform for enhanced injury surveillance and prevention across UK schools, as well as the creation of a Trusted Research Environment for large sports datasets generated by major sports governing bodies. Researchers at The Podium Institute have unfettered access to these controlled datasets and work collaboratively with Podium Analytics in order to maximize the impact of greater data availability through the deployment of the latest tools in machine learning, signal processing and data analysis.

The Podium Institute is working alongside Sports Governing bodies to ensure the success of current research projects, and to focus research efforts in areas which will bring maximum benefit to both professional and grassroots athletes.

The Podium Institute is working with Government departments to focus world-class research on sports in order to have a direct impact on the life-long health of athletes, teams, players, and the public.
